The FIH Level 1 Foundation Official (L1O) Award is the first step on the FIH Official Education Pathway.

The L1O designed for teachers and volunteers aged 14+ wanting to start officiating in domestic hockey competitions.

Applicants do not require any prior experience of hockey or officiating.

FIH Academy Courses are recognised globally, however, with 140 FIH member nations, equivalence to National Association qualification and requirements, as well as local laws will vary. For further information please contact your National Association or Continental Federation.

Face to Face Format

Our Face to Face L1O consists of a minimum of 8hr with up to 20 participants and 1/2 FIH Educators.
