FIH Level 3 COACH Award (MAS)

Face to Face Final Course: 5 to 8 May 2024 - Ipoh, Malaysia alongside the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup

The FIH Level 3 Talent Coach (L3C) Award is the third step on the FIH Coach Education Pathway.

The L3C is designed for coaches wanting to coach players at Play (developing) and Stay (lifelong & performance) level, in senior club or national youth environments.


Applicants must hold the FIH Level 2 Coach Award (or be nominated by their National Association) and have completed the L3C Online Course to participate in this course. 


FIH Academy Courses are recognised globally, however, with 140 FIH member nations, equivalence to National Association qualification and requirements, as well as local laws will vary. For further information please contact your National Association or Continental Federation.

Format

Our L3C face to face course consists of 28hrs of practical guided learning sessions (usually 4 days x 7 hours), with up to 16 participants and 2 FIH Educators.
Sunday evening arrival - Wednesday afternoon departure

Course Structure

By the end of this course, we hope you are able to:
  • Investigate small sided game theory
  • Design a series of 6 principles, tactical & technical based, game relevant sessions
  • Understand team Philosophy, Values and Culture
  • Explore Match Management set up, process, roles and rotations
  • Understand and carry out a performance self reflection and REVIEW
  • Design a personal development action plan
  • Understand athlete wellness - Physical, Mental, Social, Intellectual & Behaviour
  • Understand the physical and mental preparation needs of an athlete
In addition, through the four mandatory workshops:
The FIH L3C consists of 5 elements, all of which must be completed in order to be assessed for the Award.

The L3C online course must be completed prior to attending the L3C face to face course and final assessment. Ordinarily, it is also necessary to complete the four workshops before attending the face to face course.
