Safeguarding Responsibilities

This Safeguarding in Sport course will allow all adults, clubs and organisation's to ensure a commitment to excellence in safeguarding.

It will provide you with the knowledge and tools needed to help keep children and vulnerable adults safe.  

The course covers the key types of abuse to be aware of, how to identify them, and how to report and record your concerns.

Who is it for?

The Safeguarding in Hockey Course is designed to provide all adults in the sport of hockey with a basic knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues.

What will I learn?

  • Recognise what is meant by safeguarding children and young people in sport.
  • Be able to identify the main categories of child abuse and their common indicators.
  • Understand how child abuse affects children, both in the present and in the future.
  • Understand your responsibilities for responding to concerns about child abuse in sport and how to report and record them appropriately.
  • Understand how to commit to excellence in safeguarding in your sports club or organisation, whatever that sport may be.
