The FIH Academy presents The FIH World Cup Young Ambassador Programme, providing a platform for emerging leaders within the hockey community to present innovative project ideas and contribute to the development of the sport.

This is an Official Side Event for the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 and includes tickets and a trip to see at least one World Cup Game.

Programme Description

The Young Ambassadors Programme provides a platform for emerging leaders within the hockey community to present innovative project ideas and contribute to the development of the sport.


Each National Association is invited to nominate two young ambassadors (male and female) who will have the opportunity to showcase initiatives aimed at growing hockey within their communities. Participants will engage in presentations, discussions, and collaborative sessions, gaining valuable experience in leadership, communication, and project development.


The selected project(s) will receive support through the FIH Engagement & Empowerment (E&E) Programme, enabling participants to further develop and implement their ideas at national or regional level.


Participation in this programme is by invitation

Target Group

FIH will invite National Associations to nominate two young ambassadors, male and female, aged 18 to 25, who will have the opportunity to showcase initiatives aimed at growing hockey within their communities.

The seminar aims to host 16 participants to ensure an interactive and high-quality learning experience.

Registration includes:

  • 2-day in-person programme led by expert presenters, on-site observations and workshop sessions, networking with peers and hockey industry experts
  • 1 night B&B accommodation, meals are at the candidates cost
  • All travel costs between country origin and venue to be covered by national association 
  • Entrance to FIH HWC matches on the evening of the 24th
  • Certificate of attendance 
  • Cancelations possible up until 15 July

  • Registration and Confirmation
  • National Associations are invited  to nominate up to two your ambassadors. If two are nominated, 1 must be female.
  • Participants will be notified of their confirmed place on the programme following the closing date for confirmations of Monday 1 June 2026 and will receive further information about the agenda.

  • Participants are encouraged to arrive earlier or stay longer to enjoy the vibrant hockey atmosphere in Belgium and the Netherlands — and take part in the numerous side events of the World Cup. Tickets for the World Cup can be purchased at this link -
