Course Description
This in-person seminar offers a dynamic and practical introduction to Para Hockey for Athletes with an intellectual disability (Hockey ID), aimed at coaches, volunteers, umpires, and anyone passionate about growing inclusive hockey in their club or nation. Over 2.5 packed days, participants will explore the fundamentals of starting Para Hockey (Hockey ID), coaching and umpiring basics, player development through life skills, and effective event organisation. The course is led by expert educators and guest speakers with hands-on experience in Para Hockey (Hockey ID) and inclusive sport.

Target Group
We welcome enthusiastic participants from any club or nation who have started, or are planning to start, with Para Hockey for athletes with an intellectual disability (Hockey ID).
We welcome coaches, teachers, volunteers, parents and supporters eager to promote inclusive hockey and share experiences with others in the Para Hockey (Hockey ID) community.
The seminar aims to host 16 participants to ensure an interactive and high-quality learning experience.

1-hour online information session before the seminar
2.5-day in-person programme led by experts and educators
2 nights shared accommodation in a twin bedded room and full-board catering for the entire stay (extra cost if single room needed)
FIH Para Hockey (Hockey ID) shirt
Entry to the Para Hockey World Cup and the FIH World Cup in Wavre (approximately 15 minutes from Louvain-La-Neuve)

Registration and Confirmation
Registrations are now open. Based on the number of participants, a final decision on whether the seminar will take place will be made in April/May 2026
Participants will be notified immediately after this decision and receive further information about travel and the pre-seminar online session. We aim for a group size of 16 participants

Participants are encouraged to arrive earlier or stay longer to enjoy the vibrant hockey atmosphere in Belgium and the Netherlands — and take part in the numerous side events of the World Cup.
