Course dates: 15-19 June 2025 (15 & 16 June plus 16-19 June L3C delivery) - Antwerp, Belgium

Times each day: 15th (13h to 19h), 16th to 18th (9h to 19h30), 19th (9h to 15h30)

The FIH Hockey Educator Award is the second step on the FIH Executive (Train the Trainer) Education Pathway.

The HEC designed for individuals wanting to train and/or mentor members of the hockey workforce within any of the six branches of the FIH Academy - Athlete, Coach, Events, Executive, Official & Umpire.

Pre-requisites: A good level of expertise and understanding of the branch/role that you wish to train, together with some knowledge of teaching and mentoring is mandatory.

FIH Academy Courses are recognised globally, however, with 140 FIH member nations, equivalence to National Association qualification and requirements, as well as local laws will vary. For further information please contact your National Association or Continental Federation.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, we hope you are able to:
  • Describe the different functional roles of an Educator
  • Describe the fundamentals of Education
  • Identify and facilitate learner centred sessions using different delivery strategies
  • Plan a series of outcome-based learning sessions (design a course programme)
  • Deliver 3 sessions as an Educator
  • Identify competency-based criteria and carry out a review and assessment.
