ORGANISED BY FUTURES SPORTS AS PART OF THE FIH WORLD HOCKEY CAMP

The FIH Level 2 Participation Coach (L2C) Award is the second step on the FIH Coach Education Pathway.

The L2C designed for coaches, teachers and volunteers wanting to coach players at initiation/beginner/foundation level.

Applicants must hold the FIH Level 1 Coach Award or equivalent to participate in this course.

FIH Academy Courses are recognised globally, however, with 146 FIH member nations, equivalence to National Association qualification and requirements, as well as local laws will vary. For further information please contact your National Association or Continental Federation.

About this Course

The L2C designed for coaches, teachers and volunteers wanting to coach players at initiation/beginner/foundation level.
This course is integrated in to the FIH World Hockey Camp, providing an ideal opportunity for candidates to learn and practice in a live environment. Candidates will be considered as part of the Futures Sports Staff Team for the duration of the course, but will be mentored by an FIH Educator throughout. Sessions will take place each day from 9am to 5pm for all candidates.

FACE 2 FACE Format

This L2C consists of 4.5 days of practical guided learning sessions, with up to 12 participants and 2 FIH Educators.

Course Structure

By the end of this course, we hope you are able to:
  • Further explore concepts of how to coach
  • Design Learner Centred, game relevant sessions
  • Understand Attack - Defence - Transition Game Principles & Tactics
  • Understand the technical skills needed to perform specific individual principles
  • Explore how to coach technical skills in a game relevant session
In addition, through the two mandatory workshops:
