The FIH Academy presents an FIH HWC Observer Programme "From Vision to Evaluation"alongside the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026.

Two packed days discussing the full life cycle of events, learning first-hand from the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026, discovering expert approaches to planning, delivering and promoting events and collaborate and share best practice.

This is an Official Side Event for the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026.

Programme Description

The FIH is pleased to present a two-day Observer Programme "Delivering an FIH Event: From Vision to Evaluation" alongside the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026.

Over 2 packed days, participants will understand the full life cycle of events, learn first-hand from the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026, discover expert approaches to planning, delivering and promoting events and collaborate and share best practice.

Participation in this programme is by invitation only

Invited Participants

FIH will invite National Associations to nominate one delegate with responsibility for event operational/delivery in their Member Associations, from future host nations of our FIH Hockey World Cups, Nations Cups, Nations Cup II, FIH Hockey Pro League & Local Organising Committees as well as Continental Federations.

The programme will have a maximum of 30 participants to ensure an interactive and high-quality learning experience.

Registration includes:

  • 2-day in-person programme led by expert presenters, on-site observations and workshop sessions, networking with peers and hockey industry experts
  • Lunch on both days and dinner hosted by FIH on Friday 21 August (dinner on 22 August is at candidates cost)
  • Entry ticket to the FIH World Cup in Wavre for the evening session at end of the course on 22nd August. (Tickets for any other dates /access to the event should be purchased via the official ticket sales site).
  • Certificate of attendance 
  • Accommodation & Travel is at Delegate cost. Rates for the nights of 20, 21 & 22 August are 154.50€/night single & 177 €/night double at Le Martin’s Agora City Resort, Louvain-la-Neuve can be reserved when registering, to be paid on invoice from FIH. T&Cs and cancellation charges apply.

  • Registration is by invitation. Invited National Associations will be able to nominate one delegate with responsibility for event operational/delivery in their Member Associations.
  • Participants will be notified of their confirmed place on the programme following the closing date for confirmations of Monday 18 May 2026 and will receive further information about the agenda.

  • Participants are encouraged to arrive earlier or stay longer to enjoy the vibrant hockey atmosphere in Belgium and the Netherlands — and take part in the numerous side events of the World Cup. Tickets for the World Cup can be purchased at this link -
